another alternator post
After reading several post about alternator failures and upgrades....personally i have been through 2 in 18 months (oriely specials)
I have been kicking around the idea of using one off an ambulance..Has anyone tried this?? will they work?? I know the ambulances are "E-250 or 350" ,,

I would recomend that you take your original (if you still have it) to a trusted, local auto electric shop and have a professional rebuild it-I would think an alternator from a 7.3 equipped Ambulance would bolt right on and hook just like an original.
The crap that some of the chain parts stores sell are just that-CRAP-been there, done that.
