Dang. I guess I should have locked the Ex when I was done.

Actually, it doesn't look too bad, but I still prefer the original wheel and haven't seen a cover that I like better....

HVe you thought about finding a black front bumper valance to put on it? Would fill those holes from the original.

I'm thinking about just getting the "all chrome" mode since my valance is warping and has small gaps between it and the bumper. Haven't just pulled off the valance because of the holes it would leave.

My steering wheel leather was tweaked as well. I just went with a black cover. Figured it was going to be obvious no matter what, might as well get one that wouldn't show dirt or wear as easily.

I know there is a company that re-covers steering wheels...wonder if they have an option to send you one then let you send yours in so they can use it as a "core" for another one.

Do you have a name or web site? I'd like to find out more about them. If their prices are reasonable I'll even volunteer to be the FTE guinea pig, Venezuelan rat, Iowan mole, Australian prarie dog, or whatever other rodent is applicable.

Not sure this is the exact company others have used, but one I found after a quick google search:
Craft Customs Steering Wheels and Wood Dashes customizing repairing and reconditioning and custom steering wheels

Hera was looking a little dirty and neglected and I wanted her to look good for the GTG.

Well since I don't own an Excursion yet, I didn't do anything to it. I did, however, put in a 17 hour shift getting me a few bucks closer to buying my rig. Gotta love that Texas Oil Boom!

Like they say, " I may be oilfield trash but I enjoy my oilfield cash" lol

There has to be a serious reason to sell an Ex. If it's financial I can understand but if your selling to get something else im almost sure your gonna regret it. So why are you selling?

I agree. GOOD X's are hard to come by. Since they havent been produced in over 6 years there will be fewer and fewer on the road.

I used to build computer/analytical systems for oil research. Some of the stories of the field hands were incredible.... I kind of miss those days....
