Jet Performance Power Shift?

Is anyone using this? If so how does it perform? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tchlink:top:en

I'm not too worried about making more power but would like to firm up the shifts in the transmission.

So I order one of these units and finally got it today. Now I have a little dilemma.

I called Jet to confirm the wire colors for my transmission. I hadn't looked to see what trans my truck had in it yet so I thought maybe I had the 4R100 which the install directions did not include. When I spoke to the tech guy he gave me a different wire color than stated in the directions for the 4R70W transmission which my truck has.

What do I do now? I'm not real confident in installing it because of the difference in colors from the directions to what I was told on the phone.

I guess I could call back and see what someone else says.

Well so much for that idea. The wiring harness for my truck does not match the one in the directions from Jet. I called four different times and the last guy tells me to try and hook it up to some of the wires I have. Ah, no thanks. He then tells me my truck must be special made because it doesn't match there stuff.

Now I have to send it back to the place I bought it from. They told me the unit isn't for the 4R70w trans like they have listed it, but Jet says it does.

Whatever, I guess I will just save up and get a full tuner of some sort.

I have it figured out and installed now. A Ford tech. over on FEP told me which wires I needed to hook up. I needed to hook up the the violet/white(pin 4) and the yellow/white(pin 6). The unit works great and there is a definite difference in each of the settings. The only thing I don't like is that it downshifts just as hard as the up-shift. These old U-joints are definitely needing to be replaced now.

No idea why Jet would not have this information.

If you want your trans to live-you need to remove that POS....NOW.
That's nothing more than a device that manipulates the pump pressure ALL THE TIME.
You WILL damage the pump and the trans by using this over time.

Really? With the way the downshift is I was wondering how good it was for it.

Would have been nice to know two weeks ago.

I guess I will look into a mechanical shift kit then. What brand would be the best for towing??

That's because it's increasing the line pressure all the time.
That WILL kill the trans.
Many Tbird owners found out the hard way several years ago with a product that B&M made called the "Shift Plus". Same basic operation, and will result in the same end result-you needing a new trans. There's only one way to properly clean up the shifts-through a PCM tune.

Hopefully they will still take it back since I noted in the feedback that I had it hooked up. Of course they have yet to send me an email with instructions for getting the return shipping label.
