Hey guys, I found this site and think its great. I been looking for a site that has info like this one.
I know its kinda blunt and seen a few topics a couple of pages back, but my question is what is the deal with the automatic trans for the 7.3 trucks?
I bought my truck with 15k miles on it. It's a 01 f-250 with a 4 inch lift and a/t tires. I was coming back from a trip and my trans goes out. I have a hypertech programmer installed, also a k&n, and 4 inch exhaust w/downpipe.
I have been looking at aftermarket transmisions but don't want to pay the money. Is temp a problem or maybe the oil? Any help and/or advice would be appreciated.
i had the same problem man, mine is an 01 7.3 my tech told me when the previous owner but it in at shorted the PCM and the Transmission sensors, the light was blinking on the Shift indicator but when i moved it up it quit and didnt think nothing about it and mine went out, i had to buy another one from Ford but it comes with a 3 year 75000 mile warrenty to i couldnt be that mine ended up costing 2900. i dont recommend the chips unless its certified like banks power or something like that hope this helps
