Found a 1997 F350 Crew cab, auto, 4wd XLT for sale with 130k on it. Interior looks perfect exterior has small scratches here and there but no rust or anything like that. This is the cleanest '97 I've even seen.
I drove it...no hesitation or slipping. (BTW I have a F250 1995 PSD supercab) so I have an idea of how these run. Looking to go bigger as I have a F250 with a 9.5ft Eagle Cab camper and run an extended hitch pulling a flatbed with my Jeep on it. Even with airbags its pretty overloaded. I would be swapping my superhitch and camper tie downs to the new truck. 4 full doors and seats woulkd be a plus as I would be taking my girl and two kids around with me.
Gonna have my friend (a Ford Diesel tech) take a look at it tomorrow. The carfax on it is clean. Not like that matters too much.
Anyway they want $13,900 for this truck. Must have a gold plated engine in it. I told them they'd never get that unless it was a 1999-03 Lariat with that miledge.
They said they are willing to deal. All the appraisals I could run show perfect condition values for this truck at 9700 through 11,200. For a perfect truck.
Anyone have an idea what my 1995 PSD extended cab 4wd might be worth with 236000 miles? Its red and silver with some small dents but looks good inside and out for the most part and runs just fine. The dealer is interested in my trade but I may sell outright as I want to swap stuff to the '97.
13,900 seems a little much to me if its bone stock. miles are low ide say $10k. however ive seen a lot of them with that low mileage sell for around what there asking. your truck probably 4-6k. i payed 6k for my 97 with 240k miles on it and its been in new mexico its whole life(I.E. not rust anywhere)
86,900 miles
Centaurus III conversion package
Back seat TV in custom console
12 disc CD changer
CD and radar detector built in custom overhead console
indirect lighting built in overhead console
extra map lights in overhead
electric rear slider window
leather seats
Ziebart protection, not a speck of rust anywhere
A clean 97 like that is worth close to what they are asking. That being said, it needs to be very nice to be worth that; not perfect, but very very nice!
My Dad sold this truck for $12,500 (97 F-250 CC XLT 4x4 AT 96,000 miles)
Price seems about right anymore. The re-sale value of these trucks is constant if not trending upward.
Mods/after market parts do not really make a difference on what the vehicles price is going to be.
It really depends on where you live. In my area these trucks are not on the lot for more than a day. Ask someone about getting one and they laugh at you.
If you look at the rear picture, you can see the worst place on the truck about 1/2 way back the rear panel just above the body line.
Looks like a car door/parking lot damage very small dent.
I still wound up replacing the rear brake drums, shoes and E brake cables after I figured out they were not releasing.
I also had to replace the thermostat so the engine temp would get above 100 degrees last winter.
So even low mileage is no guarantee of no problems.
How many rpm's you running at 65? These are approximate numbers but at 65 with 3.55's mine is running +-1700 rpm. 4.10's would be about 2200. At 75 mines at just over 2000 rpms also
WOW! That is really nice... Hoping I can find one similar...

With these stock size 235x85R16's I'm doing around 2200. Guess the truck is a 4.10. I'll keep the tires for a while, but how big could I go without lifting the truck?
