64 F600 Window Removal
I have got a crack in the drivers door window. Window consists of an inner and outer glass laminated together. The outer has the crack. The inner glass is still in one piece. So want to get it our to get another made before they both are broken. Took off the inner door access panel but not sure how to remove the glass. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

you need to remove the door pull and window crank. Also remove the 2 retaining bolts on the division bar.
the will allow you to slip the window from the tracks while it is all the way down and rotate it 90 degrees. then up and out the window opening. Some times takes three hands to do.
Door glass should be tempered not laminates so replace it with a tempered piece. New door glass is available cut by a glass jobber or from one of the support vendors here.

door glass was available either as sheet glass or laminated...theres a clip on the roller thats easily popped off to disengage the regulator lift arm from it...I would remove the rear lower glass run...all are easily visable from the rear door face,,,the 2 #3 Phillips side by side about midway down and the one screw at the very highest point of the rear door face...above the door latch mechanism...which has the 3 phillips in triangular pattern around the latch..
I have oodles of door glass...where located...will make you a heckuva deal on one or two if you wanna do the other door..

After removing the locking clip in the roller and removing the window regulator dowel take the crank handle and roll the window regulator all the way up to get it out of the way. Remove the bottom of the window channel at the rear and pull it rearward to get it out of the way. Work the door glass out of the window channel and let it rest at the bottom of the door. As Garbz mentioned you may have to remove the door opening rod inside the door, although I have done this without it but it does make it a little easier. Remove it by removing the three screws around the door latch release handle, the handle will have to come off first, push it in and let it drop to the rear of the door. turn the door glass by 90 degrees and slide it out the access opening. I can't remember if it is 90 degrees to the left or the right. It will come out one way and not the other.
