two piece driveshaft

I have a 1965 parts truck with a vin and title indicating it's a 1/2 ton but it has a two piece driveshaft and 9 leaf rear springs. I understand the spring package could be ordered as an option on the 1/2 ton trucks but wasn't the two piece driveshaft reserved for the 3/4 ton rigs? Thanks in advance Lefty

Nope, have a 2 piece on my F100.

5 lugs and it's a half ton. My title sez F25, but my truck is half ton all the way.

That's odd. Did you ever check the frame VIN against the title?

My '66 F100 has a two-piece drive shaft also.

1961/72 F100: Long wheelbase (128"/129"/131") = 2 piece driveshaft / Short wheelbase (114"/115") = 1 piece driveshaft.

Huh, wierd. My shortbed '61 had a 2 piece driveshaft and the longbed '82 donor truck had a one piece shaft.

Not since I have had it. I bought the truck, got the title transfered then found out the numbers didn't mate up.

Hey I got insurance & tags, 12 years of driving the ol truck, I aint poking around looking for trouble.
