That would actually be the easiest swap to a non-E4OD trans. The E4OD is based on the C6 so they are pretty similar. You can even use your existing computer, it will throw about 6-8 codes complaining about the trans, but it won't turn on the CEL over it. The C6 is a little shorter than the E4OD I believe so you will need a different driveshaft or have yours lengthened.
I'm sure you are aware you will not have overdrive with a C6.. Won't be much of a problem with local or city driving, but it will kill your fuel mileage on the highway...
