i have a 1993 ford f-150 extended cab short box, its a 5-speed, im trying to find a rear driveshaft for it, does anyone one of another vehicle that has that driveshaft that will work in this pick-up?
Isn't the overall length of the auto and manual 5sp transmissions the same in these trucks?? And wouldn't an auto OR manual 5sp truck use the same drive shaft in the same wheel base truck and if both were 4x2 or 4x4??
the length of the automatic and manual are different, the automatic uses a shorter rear driveshaft and the manual uses a longer rear driveshaft, same thing but in reverse for the front driveshaft..
i do and im trying to reframe from having one made due to the fact they are so expensive, im trying to find one at a junkyard or something that is that particular length.

Ok, Dan, not you got me thinkin.....
I just went and looked at a truck( same specs) that was "standard" and the shaft is 56 1/2.
I wasn't aware that the "auto" was shorter!!
Can you confirm this, before I buy this thing.
What, if you know, is the size of the "auto" shaft.
That would be the "rear" f250 ext cab, SB, 4x4 "auto".
