I got a pretty good deal on a used grille guard for my 01 F250 SD CC 4x4. It's not the front bumper replacement, just the grille guard.
From looking at it, looks like all I have to do is pull out the two bolts to the outside of the tow hooks, and set it in place and put the bolts back in. Is this right? Surely it isn't that easy.
Thanks.
Without knowing the exact model you have I can't say for sure but yeah its just about that easy usually. Some guards require that you replace the existing bolts with some that are just a bit longer so that you can get the guard secured properly.
I did a brush guard install on an F150 (about '05) and it went smoothly.
Look and see where the brush guard attaches, and then go from there.
What manufacturer is it? It's possible it might have to attach to the bumper somewhere. The westin I did on hte f150 attached at 4 places, and so does the Ranch Hand I ahve on my Tundra.
It typically is on the superduty. Drop four bolts, hook up two brackets, set the brush guard and tighten every thing back up. Don't tighten down the bolts to the bump until you have snugged the brush guard to the brackets, they will probably need some tweaking to get them lined up.
