I'm into my 1973 F-350 Super Camper Special and am almost ready to pull the motor. (got a few stuck nuts that I'm trying to coax off without breaking them). So on to my question.
The casting number on the heads of the 460 read "D VE - A2A". At first I thought that possibly the number after the D had just been corroded off on one head, but when I went over to the other head I saw the same thing. Are there any people out there who may be able to tell me how I can identify the casting year for these heads?
I don't think this is going to hold up my plans for getting this truck on the road. The engine runs fine. I just want to get it out of the way so I can do some work in the engine compartment on the firewall and cab cowling.
Are you absolutely certain emeraldcoupe? The truck was built in December 1973. I'm pretty sure all the parts on this engine are original. The guy who sold it to me bought it new.
