Are you sure your stating the correct engine family?
95 year truck is either a 5L, 5.8L or a straight 6 (4.6) cylinder motor.
None of the 95s will bolt up to the 97 transmission that I know of.
As well the computers used between the two families are totally different.
You 97 has no distributor as all the 95 motors do.
