noise in front end
my truck is a 04 f150 with the 5.4 triton.. only mod is the leveling kit in the front. it has 75k on it...
i was just reading about a rattle a guy had on a 07 f150..
not sure if i have the same problem, but i have a noise that sounds like metal to metal, it even happens backing out of the driveway, at real real slow speeds also.. pretty much happens all the time.. it actually did it when someone was getting into the truck the other day..
so i am not sure it would be the same issue the other guy had..
i have jacked the truck up a number of time and went over the front end, i thought it was the front skid plate so i removed it, then i thought it was the plastic gas tank skid so i removed that.. both no good, still have noise.
any input or suggestions would be appreciated........
on another note i had allot of chatter in the rear when i would take off, truck has limited slip out back.. it was getting real frustrating.. so one day i decided to change the fluid, well i finally got off my butt and did it.. i also added the ford additive to and used synthetic oil.. well the problem was fixed..

well i took it to a shop yesterday to have it looked at and i am not sure where the noise is coming from..
it may be the rear axle..........
i am dropping it off Monday to have to checked over.. there appears to be a small leak coming from the front seal in the rear diff..

Not sure how confident you are with the shop you took it too but make sure they know you have a limited slip rear axle which requires the extra friction lube compared the regular axles on these trucks.

My truck had a very similar rattle....ended up being the sway bar links....might be worth disconnecting them and driving around a bit......

well just hung up the phone with the shop, it was the right side sway bar link..
thanks guys for the input...
also my rear pinon seal was leaking just a wee bit so i am going to have him look at that also......
