Yeah, the spring is a pain, it would be easier to get to everything with the motor on the ground. And buy a pump reseal kit for the job, don't re-use the o-rings or they will probably leak. I know from experience.

K&N universal air filter, with mounting stud and all, makes it easy to attach to the bracket I made from sheet metal. Air tube I made from exhaust pieces. The whole thing cost me 65 bucks.

I dont think that air filter will work there anyways. I think the plastic inner fender will hit it. Plus having your filter low is never a good thing.

Heres my air filter location. Still temporary but it gives you an idea of about where you will be

Yea the filter is just there for runing it on the stand. The stainless elbow you see is going to be part of the exhaust. I got one of those 3200 gov springs and o-rings. Havnt looked at that yet. I guess nows the time. I've got a leak in one injecter line. Actually the cone fitting on the end of the line. I'm going to have to get a new one.

Up date time. I havent done hardly any work, but i'm collecting more parts.

I found out my dynamic ballancer was bent. So I got one from a 6BT. It actually has rubber in it and is very heavy. Hope it smoothes the engine out a little. Here it is mounted on the engine. (the old one down on the right.

Got my trans from Dynamic racing and test fit it. American Thunder and some others had to do some cutting and filing to fit their tranny. But it appears I will not have to. I also tried a transfercase on and it fit good also.

Nice!! I'm not sure why my C6 required me to remove some of the lower section of bellhousing to clear the flywheel and yours didn't. That's weird. Was your C6 from a 460? My trans was an older one, if I recall, it was a '77.

Mine is a C6 that fits on a small block pattern. I would have thought that a bell housing from a 460 would be bigger. One thing I just noticed is the limited space to bolt the torque converter on to the flexplate. I wonder if it would be bad to widen the slot a bit. I feel it needs a cover anyways. Thunder, even with your cut out housing, it couldnt have been eazy to get to the other side of the flexplate.

Update,
I finnally started working on the truck. Stripped the body and drivetrain out. Here it is with alot of pressure washing.

Its not as rusty as it looks. Infact, its pretty clean. I still might get it sand blasted and painted.

I found some angle iron welded on the frame rails. I've never seen this before. I dont think their stock, but the only things not stock on this whole truck was a true dual exhaust and nerf bars. (the iron is not close to the nerf mounts) anybody seen this before.

They are on both topside starting just behind the rad arm mounts. About 18" long.

In other news, I got another rear diff out of a superduty. So now I have disc brakes and matching lug pattern to the front. I'm hoping the e-brake will hook up without much fuss.

So far this hasnt been very satisfing. I hope it will be mre fun when I'm bolting stuff on. LOL

Dang man, you werent kidding! That WAS alot of pressure washing, didnt that thing used to have a body on it? lol jk this thing looks like its gonna be a ton of fun. they probably just welded those on for extra frame support/strength. Im thinking about doing the same thing to my 94 f150 when I put my 351M in it.
