1st Excursion!!
Hi everyone, I am new to the forums. Just bought my first EX with 50,000 on it. It has got a 3 inch lift and its a V10, I love this baby!! Just towed my double stacker Jetski trailer out to the river loaded with 4 skis on the bottom and 3 standups on top, and the truck loaded with 6 people and all of our luggage. Ran the A/C all 4 hours out and it was about 116 degrees out ther!! Truck temp never reached half way, this thing towed it awesome!! I have always been a ford guy, but this truck I just fell in love with. Gas mileage is not that great but hey! I didnt buy a truck for MPG.

double stacker jet ski trailer, hell, if you'd have left hte people you could have tosssed them in teh back. I hope you didn't expect to notice that trailer back there. I sometimes forget I have a trailer.

welcome to the club. the gas milage thing is a sore spot. but, your driving style will help alot. from stop, pull out like your granny, keep the rpms under 2000, keep tires inflated to thier recommeded max, synethic oil, clear air filter and mine likes the no ethanol gas... there's a bunch of mpg post on this site... mine gets 8-9 towing a '30 camper, around town 11-12 , highway 15-16 mpg....

Gonna do some mods here to it soon, cold air intake, exhaust just to let the thing breath a little. Maybe a chip, which do you guys recomend for a V10?

Jay, I forgot the trailer was back ther half the time (Not a good thing!) but it was just soo smooth.

You would be well-advised to go thru "back issues" of the various 'threads' in this forum on the issue of "let the thing breathe" and "chips".
My impression from what I have read down thru the years in here, is that while "chips" CAN provide some performance inhancement for the diesel guys, other than "forced induction" ( turbo-charging or super-charging) you will be throwing your money away for little or no REAL improvement.
