Where can I get one and how much?
Just quoted for a expensive repair on my truck and wondering if it would be better to buy a reman longblock and have it installed instead...

If you want a new long block, there are several options.
This is the only one I can think of at the moment, I know I have seen others just can't find them right now
A Ford reman long block, approx. $4800 with 5 yr. 100,000 mile warranty.

I'm just trying to figure out my options here. If the front cover is bad it's gonna cost me about $3500 in parts and labor to get it fixed. I hope that the cover is ok. The shop is checking the bypass right now...
Just seeing if it would be better to replace long block instead... I guess with the added labor and cost of the long block it would end up costing more in the end.
