As it was said Freightliner owned Sterling and produced larger trucks that were like the old big Fords like the L8000s and such and sold rebadged Dodges for their smaller line of Sterling trucks although Sterling never sold anything smaller than a 4500 or 5500 as far as I'm aware.

As of last year some time I believe it was Sterling is no more. There may still be some leftovers on lots somewhere but new Sterlings are not being produced to the best of my knowledge.

Pete, you are correct. When Sterling was bought buy Daimler they rebadged the HD Dodges. Also you are correct in saying last year they dropped the that. I believe it was in the begining of the year.

Over here it's the Dodge dealers that have the access to the Sterlings and those trucks are on their lots.

This was lifted from Sterling's website:

October 2008

Dear Customers,

You may already be aware of Daimler Trucks North America's (DTNA) decision to discontinue the sale of Sterling branded Heavy, Medium, and Light duty Trucks. After months of extensive review, and after examining a range of alternatives for both DTNA and Sterling, we reached the painful conclusion that this action was a necessary response to dynamics in the economic environment, and future demands on the company's capital and other resources.

Thanks Dan.

I still want to replace it with a custom Superman S some day.

A sterling Bullet is what they call the dodge versions of them. We have a 4500 Sterling 6.7L service truck we just got a few months ago at work same thing as the dodge 4500 service truck we just got as well. One hell of a nice work bed but still a POS dodge body. It is EXACTLY a dodge with a different grill and badging chrysler marked all over it. I'll have to get a picture up next week.
