Indiana Chapter Leader Position

Hello fellow FTEs! Since this is the forum I regularly watch and about the only one where I post threads, I thought I would post here my request for consideration for the Indiana Chapter Leader position. ......

Hello! My name is Rob Blubaugh (brit_wheels_fan). I am a school teacher nearing retirement and I am a life-long Ford truck enthusiast. I learned to drive on my dad's '51 F1 in our small hay field when I was about 8 or 9 years old. My home was Bowling Green, Indiana, a tiny little town in SE Clay County, on highway 46 just west of Spencer. I now reside in Rensselaer, Indiana</st1:State></st1lace>, just off I-65 about 40 miles NW of Lafayette.

A 2004 Ford Ranger XLT is my daily driver. It also is the tow vehicle for my 1970 MGB hobby car. I recently acquired a '51 Ford F1 Deluxe cab pickup. (It was made the same year I was!) It is a severely deteriorated mess. (That's another thing I have in common with it.) I am not real handy when it comes to vehicle mechanicals or restorations. That is why I NEED access to others through the <st1:stockticker>FTE</st1:stockticker> forums. I need the knowledge and the advice of others who have 'been there - done that' with old Ford trucks. It would be better however if occasionally there was an opportunity for face-to-face, direct contact with other Ford truck devotees. I would like to see what they have done, how they did the work of restoring / maintaining their trucks, and what they are planning and or attempting to do with their trucks. I would like to develop a direct and effective network of contacts with other FTEs to facilitate swapping and trading of parts and services related to Ford trucks, new and old. An active web site helps with this, but personal contacts and associations are needed too.

To that end I am 'throwing my hat in the ring' and seeking the vacant position of Indiana Chapter Leader within the Ford Truck Enthusiasts web site and organization. Your support will be appreciated, but more importantly, your active participation in developing a functional chapter will be valued. Maybe we should coin another acronym for F-O-R-D: Fun Often Requires Dedication. So let's dedicate ourselves to having more fun with our Ford trucks. - Thanks for taking the time to read this message!

You're as good a guy as any, Rob! Have at it. We still need to get together sometime and talk trucks. I just got my Falcon screwed back together and I'm on vacation this week. Shoot me a PM. Maybe I can cruise over and check out your new toy.
