Aftermarket timing cover - new hole not on stock cover (83 460)

Just bought a pioneer timing cover to replace my corroded out stock cover.

If you look at the upper left corner of the cover (above the passenger side water jacket) there's an un-tapped hole that goes through the top of the cover.

Was this a dipstick hole or something? I'm not really sure how it works. At either rate, the kit came with an aluminum dowel that fits perfectly.

Thanks in advance!!

(by no means a big block ford expert!)

yep its for a dipstick tube to go in, for a car 460, trucks have the dipstick on the side of the block.
