my son has a 94.5 powerstroke. he just started having trouble starting his truck. the batteries are up and when running charging. the fuel bowl is full. i dont think its a glow plug problem. if i shoot a little starting fluid in it , it starts. no engine light on. sometimes it starts with no problem at all. thanks in advance.
Does the Tach move when it wont start?
Does it randomly shut off?
Do you know the Fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the Fuel Bowl?
Is the HPOP full after it has sat for a while?
Oil level up to snuff? They wont start if too low on oil.
Throw the starter fluid away. Don't ever use that stuff with a glow plug system. I will bet some of them are trashed now. I'd pull them out and see. Test the wiring on the way into them too.
he said that it sometimes dies when he is running down the road. lets it sit then it recranks right back up. the starting fluid was just a way to tell it was a fuel problem.
