ha ha ha ! Im just jokin ! Weve heard tell of that oil to heat with! Great weather? Its hot,,more so than normal,I just went outside for a smoke and at 2:05 am its 86 deg!! Thats not normal, usally it cools down to the mid 70s at night.I hope to come up there for a visit one day,I have always wanted to see Alaska.
for the first 100 miles I had my truck I ran it on home heating oil, I then changed to using diesel from the pump and some additive every fillup or atleast every other fill up and the only difference I noticed was the engine wasnt as loud and better mpg, however my truck had sat for a while so my statement might not be very helpful as that 100 miles was probably blowing out the soot to give it metter mpg, the nice thing is that the heating oil here is cheaper than diesel at the pump ( $3.11)
...I've run my furnace on diesel when I couldn't afford to have $1000 of heating oil delivered all at once. I think diesel and #1 are first cousins if not full brothers. We need a fuel chemist to chime in.
Maybe differences in sulphur content, lubricity, cetane number, anti-gelling???
or maybe it all comes out of the same pipe at the refinery???
The only difference is the die in the heating fuel. If your fuel is coming from the north pole refinery it is not ulsd so it is probably better than highway diesel. lol
Just don't get caught, it opens a big can of worms. lol
