Updating interior
I'm posting this thread in hopes to hear or see how other dentside owners have improved the interior of their classic trucks. For instance, different types of homemade door panels, seats from later models, and especially gauges. I would love to replace my dash with a smooth piece of aluminum or even diamond plate with all the gauges necessary to keep an eye on whats going on under the hood. Also custom radio installs would be cool to see. Everyone loves pics, so if you have some custom interior please share. I would love to have and original AM/FM radio for my 1978. Since I was born in 1981, I'm not sure if they had FM. If I found an original functioning radio I would keep my dash close to stock. Haven't found one yet. Lets see some custom interior!

They did have AM/FM and you were saying about a different dash with guages you could check into one out of a truck bigger than an F350, they should just bolt right in. You can find the origonal radios on Ebay but mostly they don,t work.

Is that one of the LMC steering wheels. I always wanted to see a pic of one. I was thinking of getting one for my truck.

Call me old fashioned, but I wanna keep my entire truck as close to original as I can including the interior. To me thats what makes it original IMO.

Sweet pics guys! I will be putting my interior and dash in once i get my new Diamond plate floor welded in...
Ive been doing exactly that with the interior or my truck too!
Heres the Bench Seat that my Grandma and I reupholstered and then i repainted it!
Then heres the dash i repainted and sound insulated, i painted it metallic cobalt blue...
I also made a new Gauge cluster as well, I used a old peice of aluminum diamond plate scrap that i had layin' 'round...I thought how it looked used a rough appealed to the truck as a whole...used and rough lol
....and heres the door panels i repainted to match!
