If you do some searching, this must be one of the most common questions. I recently went through this process.
For me, it became hard to not do the Rancho 9000xl since you can get $100 back on a set of 4 and if you buy from Amazon, the price is much better than buying local or many other websites.
I like the ride.

KYB also makes a damn good shock absorber for the Excursion, really stiff and made my V10 model Limited feel a lot more controlled while turning, curves on the highway at high speed felt like I was driving something a lot lighter.
