Coming off the highway last night at 65mph, had to come down hard on the brakes because some idiot thought it was a good idea to cut in front of me doing 30.
Was able to avoid hitting him, but at the off ramp stoplight, my foot goes almost all the way to the floor with the brake pedal, accompanied by some weird groaning/wheezing sounds (from the truck, not me) . Pulled into a parking lot, and looked under the truck. Just under the right side front wheel well, there is a puddle of what feels and smells like brake fluid, but is clear.......and it is dripping from inside the engine bay down the inside of the wheel well.....
Brake fluid is full, no sign of leaks there...
Got back in the truck and limped it home. it seams like there is almost no braking ability, the pedal just squishes to the floor, had to use the E brake to get the 2 miles home..
:::sigh::::
I am really not in a financial position to send the shop to a shop for repairs right now....
I can't see any obvious issues from the top of the engine bay, and from underneath, I can see where the fluid that sprayed out hit and ran down, but don't see any obvious places it could have come from.. Does anyone have a suggestion on where I should start troubleshooting?
Keep in mind that I am currently running my truck on a budget that would be better suited to a bicycle right now, and If I can't fix it myself, I am probably going to loose the truck.......
