No liner, I had Linex in my 2003 that I took the BedRug from....there's no issues with the paint getting rubbed off due to vibration because the BedRug gets HD Velcro strips to keep it in place. It also has a foam rubber layer underneath of it that is molded to the peaks and valleys in the bed so that when you lay on it all you feel is cushion under you on a flat surface. The futon is made by the same MFR. It was 2003 when I bought both so I may be wrong but I think the BedRug was $350? Don't remember what the futon cost, but it makes a nice bed when doing an overnight camp trip as it folds flat almost all the way to the tailgate (-about 12 inches) so I think it will fit in a shortbed as well.
When it does get wet from taking the cap off and washing I let it dry thoroughly before putting anything on it.
do you have any other info on the futon, i want to get a cap very badly mainly for a good place to sleep durring frequent camping and being able to lock cargo for trips. that futon would make a great addition along with the bedrug. then maybe a flip down tv and ill be set.
but if you have any other info on it it would be great
I bought mine at D.A.C.O. but they don't have it listed on their site, looks like you will have to call either place and have it shipped unless you are in SoCal.

I had one by ARE on my 2004. It had one nice item. The rear window in the cap would fold down (inward). You know how hard it is to clean the truck rear window then try and clean between the two? I don't like caps either, if you are going to put one on. then get the option that will allow you access to the rear windows. Both the truck and the cap had the sliding window. Even with two sliding windows it's hard to clean the glass. Getting it out of the way was a big help. You just turned to clamps (on the top edge of the frame) and fold it down.
