58 Panel truck

Just got a new project 58 Panel truck! This will take some work. Seller is bringing me a 78 LTD frame. He said it had a 58 truck on it and had planned to use it on the panel truck. What do you think? Or just up grade front end. Is this a 9" rear end in picture you will also see another member under front end because it had a chevy motor in it. Will be back to Ford power. Do want power steering and power brakes. Going to try to add pictures if I can't get it to send look at my album. Thanks

That is a 9" rear under your truck. So that's a good start. I wouldn't throw all that away to put a car frame under it. They don't have near the strength and rigidity as your truck frame. They're actually quite floppy if you've ever seen one with the body off. They get as much as give strength in combination with the car's body.

You can upgrade your truck brakes easy enough, and power steering can be added to your existing front end, or you could convert it to some type of IFS, if desired. That's my 2c.
