I didn't have to do that. I just took loose the screws at the top by the defrost vents, the bolt on the bracket at the center bottom of the dash and a couple of bolts over by the emergency brake on the aluminum looking plate. I left those in place just loose.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried to order Ford's kit for this lately. I checked with my dealer and he found the repair kit in the database. It's been discontinued. My dash is currently "fixed" with an L bracket as suggested but I'd like to upgrade to the correct thing. Dealer suggested LMC Truck but the part's not listed there.

One small ?, if you already fixed it with a "L" bracket, and its not rattling, why redo it the "right" way?,

Maybe my OCD acting up? I retired from the Army last month and I guess I have too much time on my hands now, lol. The wife keeps looking at me like, "Can't you go outside and do something productive instead of sitting on the couch drinking beer all day?" I need to find a hobby, I think.
