Pre Power Stroke VIN

1FTHF36M5RNA65326

Is it possible to tell by the VIN if its a Powerstroke or Pre Powerstroke? The truck is for sale a couple hundred miles away and I was thinking about going to look at it but i wanted to verify before I drive out there. Thanks....

its a 5 speed and they made the powerstroke only in 5 speed during 1994, all the specs below say hp at 210 where powerstroke is 210 and the idi had 185.
as far as i know no way to tell if its a powerstroke by the vin

8th digit: if its an "F" its a powerstroke
that truck is a non-turbo idi

F motor in 94 is PSD.

And let me tell you.
Its a pain at the auto parts store.

I have a 94 f250 4x4 with the F motor

Which motor?

The F Motor.

So, 5.4, 5.0...?

F MOTOR!
READ YOUR SCREEN!

So, its a 7.3? I have 3 choices for 7.3...

okay you get the point
but it really does happen.

Easy, you have either a 93 7.3 IDI, either turbo or NA or you have a 95 7.3 Stroke.

Sure does get rid of a lot of confusion at the parts counter.

As far as I know, nothing changed on any of the engines enough that one year makes any difference.

I got in the habit to say 94 k diesel and I almost said it the other day when I went to get a stroke part. I always say 93 when I call the stealership. Much easiet.

F = POWERSTROKE

K = IDI TURBO

M = NON-TURBO IDI

There are a lot of small differences on a 94 to a 95 that make it a PITA.
Such as the serpentine system. The 94 is the only one with 7 ribs, or 6
or whatever the hell mine has.
I forget.

So, my AC Clutch has one to many ribs, and my alternator pully has one less than it needs.

*sigh* such a PITA.
