Yes you got the right one, this simple mod is worth about 20 horses give or take. Make sure you get the double roller, crappy non roller sets wear out too fast and I've had a tooth skip before on one of my big blocks due to a worn out stock chain, and it's not like a Cloyes double roller costs a lot of money anyhow. 429s and 460s are nearly identical in every way except for the rod length and the crankshaft stroke. The 72 and up 385 series are the smog motors so make sure you order fuel pumps and timing chains for a 71 or older car engine.

You have any more questions about a 460 or 429 join up over at 460ford.com they are the base of knowledge for these engines and will not steer you wrong.

ok so on the cloyes double roller the "straight up" marks really are o* or 8* retarded? cause the cloyes sais from 1970-79and ive also heard that efi 460s have stock double roller straight up chains that would fit my 460, is this true

The one you have in the link is the exact same one that I have on my truck at the moment, and it will have 3 keyways like you see on the crank gear. The top dead center slot is 0 degrees (straight up) with the other two being 4 degrees advanced and 4 degrees retarded, it will specify which marking is which on the piece of paper that comes in the box. I believe EFI 460s are straight up from the factory but I cannot remember off the top of my head, sorry.

To be safe, make sure you get the one you had in the link that is for a 68-71. I ordered mine from Autozone about 3 years ago for about $35 I believe and they paid for the shipping. I ordered it for a 1970 Torino with a 429 if I'm not mistaken.
