Ball Joint question

1997 E-150 van

I have to replace the passengers side ball joints. This is the 2nd or 3rd set in about four years. What would cause this? After I replace them what else should I check?

My E350 BJ's were replaced because of a noise up front. The new BJ's didn't fix the problem but they did have a place to put a zirk fitting to grease them. You might see if you can grease yours?

The nopise was because the body to frame bolts needed snugging...a fix I eventrually did myself after tips from this board.

Typically factory installed ball joints do not have Zerk fittings----not their problem I'm sure is the prevailing attitude!

Replacement parts do which makes keeping them greased without over filling and "blowing out" the boots easy and essential.

The body>frame bolt check would be a good place to look as well---I should do that with my 2000 E250 in fact!
