Got code P0683 but mine's different!!!

CEL came on so off I went to the local auto parts store - they got out their scanner and hooked it up.
It came up with the following:

P0683 Glow Plug / Heater Module Comm Prob

So I've seen all of the other threads on here for that particular error code but none of them say anything about a Heater Module...does anyone know what that might be?

Although I am not in CA, I do have the GPCM from what I can tell from the pictures. It is mounted at the top of the engine in the center but towards the right side near the firewall - sound about right?

help me guys - for I have no clue but I really don't feel like messing with a dealer on this...

The code generally indicates a failed GPCM or PCM.

the gpcm is the silver relay box with to square connectors on it one green and one black. it is bolted to the passanger side valve cover towards the very front.
