I have a 2005 Screw KR, 5.4L. The other day my truck started this problem-
I'll be cruising along, doing 45-50 mph, turning 1100-1200 rpm's. As I start to go up a hill, the transmission starts jerking, like its trying to downshift to up the rpm's to get up the hill and it won't do it unless I give it more gas. Once I give it gas, it downshifts, rpm's go up and everything is fine. You can definitely tell the truck is trying to downshift but it won't do it.
Any ideas of what this might be and what fixes the problem?
We have customers bring there vehicle in complaining of the transmission jerking, most of the time it turns out to be a bad coil. We can find out which one it is by using our scanner.
Transmission shudders can be fixed by changing the fluid.
Ok, I was going to say if you were near the GA/SC line, I would come see you. What is the typical cost to replace the coil...say a local shop vs. a dealer? Thanks for the insight.
Had the same problem, ended up being the #5 injector. The injectors themselves are easy to replace, but those little clips on top can really be a bugger to get back on.
