slop in steering column
'87 Bronco II. Noticed recently what appears to be an excessive amount of play in the steering column where it comes through the firewall. The steering action is fine. I found a exploded diagram at the library which shows a bearing around the steering column near the end of the tube that surrounds the steering column. I'm wondering if this bearing is bad.
the main question is: before I start unnecessarily doing things, how much play is allowed in the steering column where it comes through the firewall?
