This weekend I am replacing my ball joints upper and lower as well as universals. The only one who carries them in my area is pep boys. my questions is while im doing the ball joints im doing the tie rods. They carry a brand called prosteer chassis that comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Just wanted to see if anyone knows about them or has any brand suggestions for the tie rods.
I suggest moog brand parts. I figure when it comes to steering parts you should never go cheap. I just did all of my ball joints and tie rods. The best place I found to get parts is a place called rockauto. They carry a ton of brands. I've also heard of many of people on these threads use moog.
Just a suggestion.
I think I went with spicer on mine. I would stick with name brand stuff. Moog is good too in my opinion. I got my stuff from rockauto too. Never heard of prosteer.
Be sure to check all your bearing including your spindle bearings. Be sure to pick up a set of rear seals for the hubs as you will have to remove to check / repack the rear bearing.
Ok sounds great thanks. I am also hoping to take photos of the job as well to share for anyone interested. Hoping on getting it done in the next few days if work and the old lady allow it!
