My HPOP, IPR SENSOR, EGR Cooler, were all bad and replaced. They also cleaned the turbo and intake manifold because of being all sooted up. The total came to be 3008.33. I am also putting my dieselsite coolant filter on tomorrow afternoon hopefully it goes pretty smooth and prevents this egr cooler from going out too quick.
My truck is running 10 times better and I don't think I could be more happy with my 6.0(hopefully she'll stay in decent shape here for a little bit). Thanks to all on here who helped me out and gave me information about what it could be, even though the dealer fixed it, y'all helped me know what was goin on before hand and if any of these symptoms shall happen again I'll be more knowledgable to what's going on.
You have to look at it 2 ways, the parts replaced add up even if you did this yourself at home. The rest of the bill was for someone experienced to do the work. I always try and do what I can here in my shop, sometimes I have to question myself is it really worth it. Juggling every day life with a larger project I weigh my options then decide whether or not to send it out to one who is qualified. You only have so many hours in a day and burning the candle at both ends is not fun. Good to hear the truck is running as expected.
Maxium, good points...even more important for those without all the needed skills to accurately do mechanic's work. He is starting off fresh, so money well spent. As I age, I realize there are some things I just can't physically tackle as well, so I pay for expert help. Costs more, but I find greater peace of mind, if not a lighter wallet!
At my stage with this truck, 7 years running and 100k+ miles, $3000 sounds a lot better than over $30K to replace it with something similar, if I could even get that kind of deal.

I did the same thing accept I ditched the EGR cooler and added a new fuel pressure spring, along with new square tubing to build a topside creeper, and I learned a ton, grand total.....600 dollars.
Did they replace the oil cooler. If not, they you still may have a plugged up oil cooler which will starve your EGR cooler of coolant. This leads to high heat and spuing of coolant back into the degass bottle.
My truck is in now for many of the same things and I'm insisting they replace the oil cooler. A 2009 Ford bulleting stated that EGR cooler replacement under warranty should include an oil cooler replacement. Dealer told me today they install an oil cooler kit (which he believed was a new oil cooler). I'm waiting tomorrow for clarification.
If your truck was not under warranty, then nothing would drive them to change the oil cooler. Having them test drive at full temp would show the EOT to ECT difference which is 15 Max for the Ford Spec. Mine was 22 F and I'm getting parts replaced as a result.
No they didn't..I was thinking about that too after I picked the truck up...they said they had gone over everything and checked all sensors and temps and everything checked out ok? I have to go back in anyways cause the truck sounds like it has a vaccum leak coming from the drivers side somewhere..also im pushing 20 pounds WOT with no trailer, shouldn't it push a little more? But I'll ask them if they looked at the oil cooler while they were in there replacing everything else.

True true...I am a little more confident that they worked on rather then me...I would have started on it and gone crazy probably haha...BTW I got my coolant filter on after giving myself a third degree burn from having A.D.D. and cutting the coolant pipe to hook up my coolant filter and not wanting to let the engine fully cool down.. ...Thanks mom and dad for not putting me on medication haha...hopefully though the filter helps make this cooler last longer.
ok so I might have spoke to soon? After having all that replaced I am still having a hard start problem. I stopped at the gas station today to get some diesel after driving around running arrons. When I hopped back in my truck I went to start it and all it did was turn over. I opened the hood to let it cool off quick, and two minutes later I tried again and it started up. Its 105 or so today and I was driving around for about an hour. Im lost and dont know whatelse to look at? It will also start up fine in the morning or when it has sat and cooled off. Could it possibly be the programmer on my truck, it is a quadzilla quad box, they don't make it or have any updates for it anymore. I don't know where else to look now.
