I just bought a 1997 F-150 Lariet and it has the two tone body style..And as you all know it has the two tone running above the tires and i looked under there and saw 4 screws and i seen other trucks with just the two tone on the bottom without going over the wheels and i was wondering if i unscrewed the 4 screws would i be able to take them off????Because I kinda dislike the two tone going over the body above the tires..If anyone knows if I can remove them please tell me i would really appericate it...
I've never heard of the two tone over the wheel wells that was being held on with screws, other than the older (70's) that had that wood paneling. Is this an off the lot truck or did you buy it from someone? That could clue us in as to whether someone added aftermarket body panels from the dealer or at home.
If the screws are holding this panel in, there is a possibility that it'll have mounting tabs or holes drilled through the body. You'll also have to contend with them.
Better to post your problem for the whole site to read. That way you get the knowledge of the whole group.
well it is the trim that goes over the body above the wheels it's not on the wheels u know just above them on the body and it has 4 screws holding everyone of them onto the body
I think I understand what part you're talking about now, the fender flare that came from the factory. It's mounted to the fender by four screws accessed by looking up under the wheel opening. The plastic fender splash guards are held by these same four screws. The molding should come off with these screws removed, but you'll also get the wheel well splash guards.
If you take the screwsout of the molding there should be clips on the molding also going threw the fender also. If they came from the factory them im pretty sure you wont take them off unless you dont mind the holes in the fenders. If they are aftermarket then it might just be the screws only with no clips holding the molding. Hope that helps.
