Progress on my '79

I got the cam timed up to TDC last weekend and fired him up and timed him. Runs really smooth and restarts quickly.
My question is vacuum advance on distributor. Do I port the vacuum off a particular port on the carb, or port directly off the intake manifold. And if it is the carb, which port do I use? Thanks.

Use the one on the carb that has no (or little) vacuum at idle.

You want to use the ported vacuum off the side of the carb. Hooking up to manifold will keep the dizzy in full advance all the time while it's running.

Thank you both for the help. A mechanic locally indicated it should be ported off the port directly behind the carb on the manifold. I will follow your advice, what I am trying to avoid is the smog equipment causing delay of the advance or interruption for emission reasons.
