Ive been dealing with this rattling noise coming from my drivers side front everytime i hit a bump for the past year. I have replaced my shocks, did the sway bar bushings, replaced my end links and even tried replacing my hub assembly. What would be causing this noise? Im thinkin about having my ball joints replaced. Any ideas cause im going nuts with this rattling every litttle bump!!!
Get some heavy enough and stand on the tow hooks and jump up and down and get it going good, and look at the bottom of the shock were the bolt goes through and see if there is play, also the leaf spring eye's, and track bar. get it bouncing good.
Pull your bolts out of the bottom side of your drop links, check for wear. I went though the same thing a while back and until I replaced the bolts, I couldn't get it to stop. Didn't look all that bad, but it did show some wear on the bolts. Haven't had an issue since.
Drop links, end links, the two links that tie the sway bar to the frame. On mine, the bolts on the lower end, where it hooks to the sway bar wer worn enough to see, allowing enough slop to make the rattling, popping noise.

I have new bushings for the leaf spring eyes. What is the procedure for changing these out?Big time consuming job?Need a good press?
My warn hub makes that same sound so don't jump on the Warn bandwagon just yet.
One side I fixed by filling up space with an extra locking ring where normally only one should fit. The passenger side that makes the banging noise whenever I hit a bump did not get the extra ring since I bent it during removal of the old hubs.
My Milemarker hubs rattle too, the PS is worse than the DS. It is something I have learned to tune out. One of these days I'll get around to trying to stop the rattle.
