88 5.8 Bronco update
Once all the work was done and things cleaned, I replaced the old 9mm FRPP wires with new ones (make sure you hear the snap on the boot) Old one was rubbing on the header and burned out grounding one cyl.
I also called McMaster carr and they sent me enough free vacuum line tubing (all correct colors) to make a few more vacuum line bundles.
Using a heat gun a made all of the correct bends etc and added new boots.
Changed the oil and added new royal purple synthetic...
She fired right up and after warming up, she settled to a smooth idle.
Off to the smog shop.....I drove her hard to get her warmed up.....I still have the original cat converters...
We have enhanced smog herein CA so I asked for a pre-test....if it didn't pass, I'd check the codes once more and make adjustments.
She passed with flying colors!!! So the real test progressed and it got better (truck was warmer at that point).
I drove off to get my sticker and it is back on the road.
