The shocks on my Excursion are about dead. The truck was already lifted when I bought it from the previous owner. The lift is 6-6 1/2" Not sure. The shocks on it now are white (well with a substantial amount of rust color). They have a little dial **** so I'm thinking maybe Rancho's. Single shocks.
I like 'em and had em on my 03 and now on my 05...
I predict this thread will be like the:
Which oil is best thread...
Which tire is best thread...
Which engine is best thread....
but not as contentious as the
Which conference is anywhere near as good as the SEC !!!
They've been on there for over four years and 40K miles. Who knows for how long before that. My tires are starting to wear funny and the alignment is in spec.
I recommend whatever your local auto parts has in stock for the Ex. Shocks aren't rocket science and all they do is keep your truck from bouncing. Adjustable ones probably never get adjusted because it is more trouble than it is worth.
Well I don't agree with parts house shocks at all.. mater of fact they can't even look up lifted specs ,, and with a lifted truck good shocks are even more important in controlling all the extra unsprung weight ,,
those do sound like the old RS9000 I just went with the new RSX 9000 silver in color on my lifted superduty and couldn't be happier with the adjustable feature ,, my last ones were fabtech and bilstein before that these are far superior IMHO
ps they run about 100$ each and may still be doing the 100$ cash back?
as far as never getting adjusted ? they have an incab remote option or just the fact that you can dial them in to your liking then you may be correct they may never need to be set again
Actually there is no extra unsprung weight, there is only the sprung weight and I highly recommend standard shocks (unless you like spilling your coffee).
