Parts compatability
I am looking into rebuilding a 460 block I have laying around in the back yard in one of the many sheds with far to many car parts and I wanted to build myself a stroker 460, sounds like fun and plus their all the rage two birds one stone right.
So I thought to get a stroker kit, heads, cam, headers, intake, carb(s),timing, and a new ignition here is my idea. No need to mention machine work as that I have a good shop for already.
$2128.00
FORD 460 TO 533 LONG ROD STROKER KIT
for the stroker kit I have done some snooping around and read some articles in a magazine where these people have made a kit that turned out beautifully.
My new choice is Jon Kaase Racing heads they are the newly designed BOSS 429/460
Jon Kaase Racing Engines - Kaase Boss Nine - Semi-Hemisperical Big Block Ford Cylinder Heads
the cost a mere $4150.00
Because I plan on use mainly off road for the truck but some street use I wanted something to try to get the best of both worlds I decided on Comp Cams and they suggested this aseome kit that includes everything

Ok so I found a kit I am happy with from weiland intake and holley carbs. Now I have an idea I want to run past yall. How do you think the great big nestalgic blower would look poking up from the hood of a lifted dent? $901.70

To go along with that i had an idea ablout using he electro magnetic hood latches and door latches to create like a cabinet door hinge type thing where the hood opens as two flaps instead of a giant bay door and would open so each door stood over the one of the front quarter panels. THen I would use the cab struts used to hold semi-truck cabs forward to hold the doors open any idea on how this might look or if you have ever seen it?
And headers were just kind of the browse and pick over at summit and this is what I decided on $749.95

Alright so I know that there is a lot there but please tell me what I got wrong and I will go out hunting again so far only about $8357.60 plus the minor amount of decking and boring for the block just remember this is for major stuff not including gaskets and the like.
The boss 8 heads that Jon does are awesome (actually got to fingerprint a set when they first came out) but that $4150 does NOT include valve covers which you will need and the $1500 special rocker arms you will need either. Last I heard it was around $6300 for them with everything. Also you need Boss 429 plug wires.
But the other thing is you mentioned intake in headers in your post and NON of those will fit with the Boss 9 heads. Most likely the headers will be custom units only ( no one I know of makes headers for anything but a Boss 429 mustang as a off the shelf part and not even sure about the mustang anymore). And probably the best deal on an intake is to get that from Jon too as not sure anyone still makes them but you might get lucky otherwise your looking for used collectable parts
While I would be willing to spend that much i can quickly see this becoming a budget issue so I think I might want to go back to the performer heads from edelbrock I had found and just build them up a little with custom valves rockers lifters springs and porting.
Look at Jon's P51 heads for example. Jon designed the for SCJ heads used on the 514 crate motors that are making 600+hp out of the crate, and due to some disagreements he went back to the drawing board and designed the P51 heads to outperform those. I knwo that with an off the shelf comp roller cam on his 521 test mule engine he made 700hp on pump gas for example and that was out of the box heads without porting.
Another really good choice and one tha tmakes a great low end pulling motor is the TFS street heads.
the P51 will be a little better upstairs the streets a little better down low (in the rpm range) both will do good in the mid range rpms like 3-5500 on a 533cid engine
Edit, That cam isn't going to be enough in a stroker motor no matter which set of heads your looking at. But your looking at a low and mid range cam so I would recommend the TFS heads and they will use off the shelf pistons, intakes, rockers, and headers. (the P51 heads require CJ intake and exhaust and use specific pistons)

Since the strocker kit comes with pistons I would assume that I would want to go with the street heads but don't know for sure yet.
