"Pinging Noise"
I had my timing advanced and my truck ran much better(felt stronger). The only thing is that while driving with my A/C on and I accelerate I get that pinging sound(it sounds like a diesel). The other thing is that while the car is in park, if I stomp on the accelerator all the way down real quick, I get a cloud of smoke.
The mechanic told me he set the timing to what it was suppose to be at.
What I want to know is if my timing is set right, what else could be causing the pinging?
I heard talk about the EGR valve and sensor, do they have anything to do with causing your engine to ping?
What symptoms does your engine get if your EGR valve and sensor are bad?
I'm getting the timing checked again by a friend of mine anyway to rule that out!
