Question Interior light stay on!

Ok, I've read thru the post and can't find an answer. I need some help here. I have an '00 X and the interior lights stay on or come on in the middle of the night. I think it may have something to do with the rear door. Most of the time the door open light is lite on the dashboard, even when driving down the road. I can't tell you how many times I've pulled over to open and close every door to make sure they are all secure and the door open light stays on. After driving for a while the lights will go off and the indicator light will go out as well. Another example...I was up at 3:30 a.m. getting ready for work and all lights were out....when I left at 4, all lights were on all doors were locked except for rear hatch....I've tinkered with the rear door but nothing seems to help....Any advice?

I have had the same issue from time to time. I used WD40 and spray into the latches of all the doors. Helped to lube latches and got rid of the door ajar light problem. I read that others here have done this also, but some reported it came back over time. So far it has worked for me! Good luck, let us know how it works out.

In the power panel under the steering column, swap your "interior lights delay" relay with another one (there are plenty) and see if your problem goes away.

The WD40 trick is a temporary fix. I replaced all six of the door ajar switches on my '01 Limited for later '03 versions (yes, there was a difference). My '05 EB has not had the door ajar problem.

Where would I find the interior lights delay relay?

I'm having this issue on an 03...but maybe it was an earlier build. (I have the 6.0, not 7.3, so it shouldn't be a very early 03)

I gotta say that I used a GOOD dose of silicone spray, not WD-40, on my 2000, about 3 years ago when I first got it, and, knock on wood, it has done the trick.
