Resetting Computer
I have one more question about esof/gem. I think I have narrowed my problem down to the gem module but I was reading the forums here and saw several references to people resetting their computers by disconnecting the battery. I didn't see it pertain to my problem but I was wondering if it would help (see previouse posts by me for my problem). Its a 2001 SD 4X4 with a 5.4.
I know it won't hurt to try but thought I would throw it out here for any comments.

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus, and the check engine light would not go off. I took the car to the local auto parts store so it could be hooked up to the little diagnostic machine. I fixed the problem myself, but the check engine light still stayed on. I called the dealer and they said disconnect the battery. I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes or so, and then hooked it back up. The check engine light hasn't been on since. Give it a try.
