2010 Escape XLT
Hi All
Has anyone had a clunk noise from the right rear while going over the "long " type of speed bumps, the ones used to slow traffic down on side streets?
My wife has this happen to her if she is driving more than 20 km/h. Seems like an over travel issue not sure. we took it to the dealer ( i havent taken a look under myself yet) I let her go didn't want a p!ssing match with the tech ( im a CT mechanic) well when she got home and told me that the tech said its because the rear suspention is so stiff it clunks, oh and they took out a new off the lot not even test driven and it does the same thing hmmm any way wrote a letter to Ford and then they wanted to speak to me on the phone about this. enough of the what happened was wondering if this is the same with anyone else?
and posted speed limits are 50km/h (30mph) no signs saying to slow down but common sense makes you slow down to 30km/h (20mph) at least any feed back will do

Only seen the "long" type of speed bump in a picture. None around here. Here the short/sharp speed bumps can be used in parking lots in the drive across the front of stores, etc. No sound from the rear of our 2010 FWD on those.
You might want to try grabbing the exhaust system back there and see if a hard push upwards and letting it drop quick makes any sound in the rubber mounts.
