I've seen this problem on other vehicles so I figure it's common.
On my 97 Explorer V8, the rear window defroster only works on the top half of the window. It's like there's no heat being generated by the bottom half. I imagine it's a broken connection somewhere but I don't know where to start.
So, if I find where the break is in the grid, can I just solder across the break (sounds like it might be tough to get it to stick) or is there a better way to repair it?
There is a product available at a parts store.
The jar is half the size of a thimble and you use tape and a small brush to apply it.
It is a special metallic paint.
