Pinstripe replacement?

I'm getting ready to paint a new drivers side door of my truck. Problem is my truck is two tone paint (red top and bottom and white in the middle). Anyway, Ford covers the seams of the contrasting paints at the bottom with a plastic trim (which I can remove from the current door and replace with double stick tape). However, the top portion is masked with a 2 stripe pinstripe. Doing a search on this board you have to either buy an entire kit or go to a sign shop. The one currently on the door I'm replacing is fine but is it possible to remove the pinstripe and reuse it on the new door? I'm worried even with a heat gun/hairdryer that when I go to pull on the pinstripe it will either eventually rip as I'm removing it or will stretch out of shape and be unusable.

Any suggestions?
