360 4barell intake anyone

I just am finishing a top end rebuild on a fairly clean 360 for my 53 f-100 with a little bigger cam and all new springs lifts and timing chain.It has a 2 barrel motorcraft and stock intake and I only will be using the truck for sound and show but wondered if I should go with a 4 barrel or if I will be fine w/ the 2.Next if anyone can help locate a 4 barrel intake for my 360.Thanks dj

There isn't a thing wrong with those old Ford 2bbl carbs. I'd rather have one of those than a 4bbl anyday! So much more dependable and reliable.

Might look into one of edelbrocks polished manifolds. They sure look sweet but they cost a bunch. I don't think I would go with the RPM mainifold on your setup. It wouldn't really hurt but I doubt it would help. The stock 2bbl intakes and carbs are great but by no means are they for any kind of performance. They are good for bottom end torque and thats about it. You will not be in the loss by going to a 4bbl.

dj, I am not sure what you mean by sound and show, but a new Eldebrock intake and carb will run over $500.00. For daily use I have never heard of a Ford truck with a FE engine starving for gas with a two barrel carb. Got the money, be happy, stimulate the economy.
