looking for intake for 360

Fellas ,I am looking at a victor intake for my 360 that I just cammed up a tad.Right now I am using the stock intake with a 2 barrel. The motor hasent been fired yet from the fresh rebuild. My question is will i see a bunch of improvement with this new 4 barell intake or should I just stay with the stock intake.I have heard of people having problems with aftermarket intakes? Please take into consideration this is in a 53 ford f-1 and is practically a sound and show truck less than a race truck. Thanks alot.DJ

The victor is WAY too much intake for your 360. A performer RPM would be the hottest I would dare run. Fitment problems are few and far between so I wouldn't worry about it. A performer intake with a 600cfm 4 barrel should give you a nice running engine. The 2bbl could probably give you decent power also but it won't do any high rpms.

That isn't a victor. It does kinda look like a streetmaster. I can't really tell. It could be an old Offy but I doubt it. There is no writing on it?

The eBay item is an old Streetsweeper err Streetmaster intake from the '70's.

I'd pass, it doesn't make torque and it doesn't make speed either.

A little off-topic, but what's the difference between an Edlebrock Performer 390 (like I have on my 390) and a Performer RPM or other Edelbrock's?

I know what I have is a dual-plane, and pulls decent from low-end all the way up to 5500RPM or more.

The RPM has bigger runners and a higher/bigger plenum. It also lacks the exhaust crossover which can be good on a HP engine to help keep the intake cool.

My Performer 390 didn't have the crossover either... I bought it about 12 years ago.

The RPM is a later redesign of the old Performer series. As the name states, it doesn’t run out of breath like the Performer does at around 4K. Don’t trash the old Performer just yet though, remember it replaced the horrid S.P.2P intake of the energy crisis days. The one thing I don’t like about the RPM is Edelbrock moved the carb. position rearward a coupe inches. Maybe the Performer is still on the market because it’s the only street legal intake they got. Plus it's a little big for a 352 or 360.
