The Brake light on my F-250 PSD comes on intermitantly and then goes out. I have replaced the vacume pump once because this happened before and lost the brakes. After replacing the pump the light ceased to come on but now it is doing it again. Any suggestions?
I'm assuming that since you have gone to all the trouble to change the vacuum booster that you have checked the fluid level?? I thought so but I had to ask. I'm not sure how these work but on some of my older pickups it had to do with pedal travel. Does the light come on when you push down the pedal or does it just come on whenever. Maybe the pads are worn and you have excessive pedal travel?? Can you give more details?

Sorry about having no info on the vehicle but I accidently sent it before I was finished7 F-250 PSD Longbed 4X4 Auto trans, Manual locking hubs. 140,000 miles.
Yes I have checked the brake fluid. Could the discs and shoes be wore down enough again or is there something wrong electrically?
My second question is when I turn the wheel left or right while not moving the front end makes a definite "POP". ??
The pop in the front end is probably not signifigant. My 96 did it all the time if I turned the tires at a stop or at low speed. I think it's just the tires pushing the front end from side to side. Maybe check and see that all the hardware is tight and nothing is cracked. With 140k your bushings on your springs may be wasted??
Another thing to check is the emergency brake switch. I had the little rubber bumper fall off the e brake pedal once and the brake light stayed on when cruising down the road. I seem to remember that there was a TSB about that same problem.
